Gauge:
14 stitches over 4” in st st on US 10 needles or size needed for accurate gauge
Pattern Stiches:
2 x 2 Rib:
*k2 p2* repeat *
Garter Variation:
rows 1 and 2: *6k2p” to end of row
rows 3 and 4: *6p 2k* to end of row
Pattern:
Cast on and set up:
Cast on 80 st. (Note: You can add multiples of 8 stitches to get an increase in circumference of approximately 2 1/8 increase in circumference)Knit 2x2 rib for one row.
Join in the round. PM at beginning of row.
Body:
Knit 2x2 rib in the round for 12 inches ending at the beginning of the round.Change to pattern stitch:
rows 1 and 2: *6k 2p” to end of row
rows 3 and 4: *6p 2k* to end of row
Repeat rows 1-4 for 15 in
Finishing :
End with I-cord bind-off:Cast on 3 st. *k2 k2tog, pas 3 st to left needle*, repeat until bind off is complete.
Leave 8” tail and cut yarn.
Use Kitchener stitch to unite beginning 3 co stitches with final 3.
Weave in ends.
